The floor plan guides the caravan purchase
Published
When choosing a caravan, the layout weighs more heavily than both price and design. This is shown by the 2025 attitude survey from the Swedish Caravan and Motorhome Industry Association (HRF), where over nine out of ten respondents cite the layout as the single most important factor when purchasing.
Sleep comfort is valued
A clear conclusion from the survey is that sleep comfort ranks highest—regardless of age. The bed and sleeping area are rated highest across all age groups, from millennials to baby boomers, with figures around 80 percent. A good bed is simply crucial for the experience, whether traveling for short weekends or spending entire seasons in the caravan. The kitchen and seating area are also highly valued, but priorities differ between generations. Older travelers more often prioritize the kitchen, while younger groups place greater importance on social spaces.
Balance between wishes and space
For manufacturers, the demand for different floor plans represents a constant balancing act. Space is limited, and every square meter must serve multiple functions. That’s why the floor plan is often the deciding factor in whether a purchase is made or not. It must work in everyday life and not just look good in the brochure.
– KABE offers the market’s widest range of caravans with so many different floor plans that all customers can find their favorite. The entry-level Estate model is practical and functional, the classic Ädelsten series has proven solutions, Royal is fully equipped, while Hacienda and Imperial maintain the highest level without compromises, says Zac.
Choose Your Floor Plan
Below you will see a small selection of all the different floor plans we have developed for our KABE caravans.
- Consider how you travel
Do you often go on short weekends or long vacations? Wild camping or campsite? Different modes of travel require different spaces and functions. - Prioritize sleeping comfort.
Test the beds thoroughly. Length, width, and access are more important than many think – especially if you travel frequently. - Think about everyday life
Where do you sit when it rains? Where do you cook? Is there enough space for everyone to move around at the same time without feeling cramped? - Adapt to your life stage
Family with children need flexible sleeping arrangements and storage. Couples without children can prioritize larger beds, kitchens, and bathrooms. - Test before you decide
Sit down, open cabinets, try making the bed, and move around inside the caravan. A good floor plan feels right immediately – and continues to feel right after many trips.
