Safety on wheels

– that's why families travel more safely with KABE
Traveling with a motorhome is about freedom. But it’s also a matter of safety—being able to take your family out on the road without worrying about security. With its unique construction and collaboration with Mercedes, KABE has elevated traffic safety to a new level—both on paper and in reality.
When you secure your children in the rear seats before a long trip, it’s not just the weather or the destination that matters. It’s the knowledge that the vehicle is built to protect in case the unthinkable happens. This is where KABE stands out in the industry. With a comprehensive focus on both active and passive safety, the company has developed motorhomes that are not only comfortable but also safe and stable.
– Many of our customers travel with children, grandchildren, and pets. Then safety must be more than just a technical concept. It must be built into every detail, says Mikael Blomqvist, CEO of KABE.

Designed to Protect
Since 2023, KABE primarily builds its motorhomes on the Mercedes Sprinter, which in its latest version offers the most advanced driver assistance systems on the market. Systems such as auto-braking, lane keeping, rain sensors, and active brake assistance help reduce the risk of accidents before they occur.
But it is during a collision that KABE's development work becomes most evident. The motorhomes have a construction designed to protect people, not just functions. The living area and chassis are joined with a steel structure, and the roof and walls are both screwed and glued. Important components such as the water tank, battery, and refrigerator are secured with metal frames to prevent them from being thrown around in the event of a collision.
It's about arriving as you traveled – together.

More Than Just Technology
Another important detail is your dinette sofa, where both the padding and frame have been reinforced to prevent the seat cushion from slipping and the belt from misaligning. The table in the living area can be folded down to a vertical position during travel, a simple measure that reduces the risk of injury in sudden braking. In January 2023, KABE tested its safety construction in a full-scale crash test with dummies and water-filled tanks. The results showed that the sofa frame withstood the enormous force and kept the passengers safely in place. A great reassurance for those traveling with loved ones.
– It’s about more than just technology. It’s about being able to relax behind the wheel without worry. About ensuring the children sit safely and arriving as you left — together, says Mikael.
