Comfort is important, but safety is crucial. That is why KABE develops its models to provide the driver and passengers with the best possible protection in the event of the unexpected. At KABE, safety efforts begin long before the motorhome leaves the factory. Since 2023, KABE primarily builds its motorhomes on the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, a commercial vehicle platform equipped with an extensive package of active safety systems. Auto-braking, lane-keeping assistance, active brake assist, and other electronic aids continuously work to reduce the risk of accidents before they occur.
Own Construction
The major difference, however, lies in the unseen details. KABE has developed its own safety construction where the vehicle's chassis and living unit are connected with a robust steel structure.
– Walls, roof, and floor are both glued and screwed to create a stable whole, while heavy components such as batteries, water tanks, and refrigerators are secured in reinforced metal frames to prevent detachment in the event of a severe collision, says Mikael Blomqvist, CEO of KABE.
Even the interior is designed with safety in mind. Your Dinett sofa's reinforced metal frame and design reduce the risk of the seat cushions slipping away and affecting the seatbelt function. The table can also be folded down during travel to minimize injury risk in sudden braking situations.

Passed the test
In 2023, a full-scale crash test of the dinette sofa was conducted using crash dummies and water-filled tanks. The test demonstrated that the safety construction kept passengers in place and that the interior withstood the very high loads generated during a collision. Safety also involves accident prevention. KABE's well-insulated construction, water-based heating systems, and efficient ventilation contribute to good visibility and a stable indoor climate even under winter conditions.
– Together with well-balanced chassis and modern driving techniques, this creates optimal conditions for safe travel year-round," says Mikael Blomqvist.
