Technical innovations and Swedish craftsmanship tradition
KABE recognized early on that motorhomes had a promising future. The first model was launched as early as 1982, and today the brand is one of the industry’s leading manufacturers.
– The KABE brand stands for quality and security – year-round, across generations, says Marcus Svensson, Sales Manager Norway.
KABE’s motorhome manufacturing dates back to 1982. In collaboration with Volvo, which also marketed the French car brand Renault, a motorhome model called Travel Master was developed. The model was built on the lightweight Renault Master truck chassis, measuring 649 centimeters in length and equipped with an 85-horsepower engine. KABE Travel Master was sold through both KABE’s dealer network and Volvo’s own car dealerships. An alcove model and a compact motorhome, both based on Renault chassis, were also produced before KABE’s motorhome production was discontinued in 1988. However, production resumed in 1995 when KABE realized that motorhomes had a bright future and responded to demand from both dealers and customers. At the Elmia fair in 1997, the first KABE Travel Master with a completely self-developed body and technology was premiered.

Strong Market Position
Since then, development has progressed rapidly, and today KABE manufactures around 900 motorhomes annually. The range includes both semi-integrated and fully integrated models, and since 2020, also a compact van model, a so-called plåtis.
"Today, we have one of Europe's most modern motorhome factories with a capacity to produce up to 1200 vehicles annually. The factory is a total of 23,000 square meters and is divided into three production lines, one for each vehicle type," explains Marcus Svensson, Sales Manager Norway.

In fact, KABE is the second best-selling brand in Sweden, in a market where over 30 manufacturers compete. KABE has a particularly strong market position within the segment of exclusive motorhomes, where the brand's year-round capabilities are an important success factor. In the premium segment, KABE offers both full- and semi-integrated motorhomes and vans built on Mercedes chassis. To expand the customer base, several models on Fiat chassis were also launched last year.
"Our range is broad and covers everything from simpler, compact motorhomes to fully equipped and luxurious flagship models. There is a KABE for everyone," states Marcus Svensson.

Over a Hundred Service Centers
One reason for our success is that KABE's authorized dealers take care of customers before, during, and after the sale. Once the purchase is complete, help is always nearby if anything should happen. Over the years, KABE has built a large network of dealers and currently has over a hundred authorized service workshops in Northern Europe.
– It’s safe to buy and own a KABE, concludes Marcus Svensson.
